Things Of Interest For Everyone

1.   For red wine stains on carpets - Pour white wine immediately on the spilled red wine.  Blot both liquids good.  Then sponge with clear, warm water, then pat the area dry.

2.   To organize those annoying little things in your garage, use clear plastic or glass containers that come with peanuts or biscotti etc.  This is a great way to organize with out labeling.  Stand them up or lay them down, I for one use them alot. 

3.   For your dishwasher, use 1 cap of olive oil in empty dishwasher.  Run 3 or 4 minutes, and this will take suds out of dishwasher caused by your liquid jet dry.

4.   For wooden salad bowls, rub salad bowls with a little olive oil on a soft cloth.  Do not clean with soap, instead rinse in warm water and reapply olive oil when dry.

5.   When doing the laundry keep socks in pairs by safty pins, this will keep you from losing them at laundry mats and save you alot of time sorting them to fold. 

6.   If you go to a laundromat, always take a bottle of Lysole.  Pour a generous amount on a clean white rag and wipe the inside of the washer.  You would be surprised what people put in them. Example: DIRTY DIAPERS.  Although this doesn't happen very often I personally did see it once when I went to wash my childs baby cloths. 

7.   Put a string or ribbon on a small bell and hang it around your back door or front door handle.  This will let you know if someone is coming in. Example: Intruders at nite.

8.   When cutting flowers to put in a vase, fill your sink and put the part you are going to cut under water then cut stems.  Your flowers will last longer this way.
